So what did we do on the eighth of October?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--1O8tIaVjG8/UHYDCbw2JvI/AAAAAAAAA2I/FmiQQYkR7iY/s1600/IMG_2266.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--1O8tIaVjG8/UHYDCbw2JvI/AAAAAAAAA2I/FmiQQYkR7iY/s320/IMG_2266.JPG" style="cursor: move;" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We made chili. Chili, the perfect meal to eat while watching a scary movie! That may not be completely true, but it does taste yummy! So while we noshed on some delicious <a href="http://allrecipes.com/recipe/cha-chas-white-chicken-chili/">white chicken chili</a>, we turned on Netflix to watch a movie I've been dying to see, The Innkeepers.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jbvBa_3RXBM/UHYQsmqjdsI/AAAAAAAAA2k/luDuVTDmnwE/s1600/innkeepers2-725x1024.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jbvBa_3RXBM/UHYQsmqjdsI/AAAAAAAAA2k/luDuVTDmnwE/s320/innkeepers2-725x1024.jpg" style="cursor: move;" width="226" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So let's talk about Innkeepers. I heard that this was a really good movie, but I had forgotten why it was or that it was by the same guy that did The House of the Devil. When I turned it on, It seemed more like an Indy flick than a horror movie. I was lulled into a false sense of "this ain't scary" security. In fact I had a hard time seeing how it could possibly get scary. I thought maybe this would turn out to be one of those campy comedic horrors where scariness is practically ignored for a good portion of the film, similar to Shaun of the Dead. And then it got a little creepy. I was all like, "WHAT!? you <i>is</i> NOT supposed to be creepy, we have established that!!" </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F35jXHsUtq4/UHYQs4UlPWI/AAAAAAAAA2s/_ohJFq5WxG8/s1600/sara-paxton-the-innkeepers.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F35jXHsUtq4/UHYQs4UlPWI/AAAAAAAAA2s/_ohJFq5WxG8/s320/sara-paxton-the-innkeepers.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
Whatever Innkeepers, Whatever. I loved you anyways. I loved how you forget your watching horror. I love the fact that Lena Dunham is in this, even if it is only for a split sec. And I loved the ending. I just kept waiting for the light atmosphere to come back. But I especially loved that I didn't see the ending coming, even when I was watching it happen. Soo...watch Innkeepers(and eat chili)!</div>

I had a feeling the weekend would disrupt my posts but that's ok! So for day 7, we went apple picking! We actually have a riverfront bike trail about a mile or 2 from our house that leads out to a community college in country. It's a really nice trail so we rode our bikes out there and stopped where there are a few apple trees. Free apples? Yes please! So I totally failed on the pictures aspect(I have pictures of us riding our bikes, but none of the apples or apple trees, guess I got to excited collecting apples!) so here are some pictures from about a month ago of a pear picking outing at Perry Farm, a local park.</span></span></span></div>

We usually do this every year, but limited funds have canceled those plans along with a few other activities we had planned. Luckily Grayson is to young to notice, but we made sure to have a fun filled day anyway playing outside for free! Here's a funny prank video I'm sure you've seen before instead.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I was so excited to finally get around to watching this movie. I purposely tried to avoid anything that might give away any of the plot since I knew this was supposed to be a completely different movie from anything I'd seen before. I'd heard so many good things about this movie. I didn't really know what to expect and I was afraid to be disappointed. In the end I'm glad I went in blindly, but I think I would have loved it regardless. It was so much fun. I really <i>really</i> liked this movie. I don't even know what to say about it other than that. I will try to be vague in my description because I don't want to give anything away if for some reason you're lame like me and haven't seen this yet.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VPGW40BoFD0/UG-vTSAT5TI/AAAAAAAAA1Q/1hvEdEz_b5A/s1600/images-3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VPGW40BoFD0/UG-vTSAT5TI/AAAAAAAAA1Q/1hvEdEz_b5A/s320/images-3.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Like I said, this movie was a lot of fun. It was not want I would call scary at all though. I'm easy to scare and I was not in the least bit nervous. BUT. What I did find interesting is that even though while watching this movie I had a constant smile on my face, when I went to bed afterwards my mind started going. And I started getting nervous. As I've mentioned before I am prone to nighttime anxiety, but this was definitely brought on by the movie. It's like the subliminal messages and themes of the movie, while they seemed lighthearted in my initial viewing, had crept in deep when I wasn't paying attention. What does this all mean?? I don't know, I guess it means I'm paranoid. But I did have a good laugh about it once the sun came up:)<br />

Another beautiful fall day! We decided to stay in tonight watching scary movies cuddled up on the couch while drinking hot chocolate and eating popcorn. Love these kinds of nights! It's also the perfect night for day 5's activity on the Halloween countdown calender. So excited...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2ZPaHW9bYyY/UG-WnYx-B9I/AAAAAAAAA0c/Y2sYw7kTyBI/s1600/IMG_2196.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2ZPaHW9bYyY/UG-WnYx-B9I/AAAAAAAAA0c/Y2sYw7kTyBI/s320/IMG_2196.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Tonight we're watching Halloween, my most favorite atmospheric movie this time of year. It just gets me in the Halloween mood like no other! It holds so many fond memories for me. I still remember when I was helping out with my high school drama club's haunted house, sitting in the dressing room turned insane asylum. I was dressed as a nutjob nurse. The Halloween theme, along with other horror movie themes played on loop putting me in quite the creepy mood. It made me feel scary and motivated me to scare the pants off of everyone coming through. Back to today, go <a href="http://neversleepsagain.blogspot.com/2010/10/day-1-is-here.html">here</a> to read the review on Halloween I did a couple year's back.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Before for we got all comfy in our pj's, we put up some of our outside Halloween decorations. Here's a couple shots of my yard, I'm so excited with it so far. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the pumpkin face looks so creepy.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZtiaxLbLc0/UG-Wp3B0bII/AAAAAAAAA0s/P-QEZuVANVg/s1600/IMG_2206.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZtiaxLbLc0/UG-Wp3B0bII/AAAAAAAAA0s/P-QEZuVANVg/s320/IMG_2206.JPG" style="cursor: move;" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And apparently in this next shot my husband has turned into some sort of creature of the night:)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well it's time to get back to Halloween. Does anyone have any festive fall plans for the weekend?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
*On a creepy side note: While I was typing this post, I was chatting with a friend on Facebook. The conversation was short. Here's a generic version of the conversion in order to keep it anonymous:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
friend-wish me luck</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
me- wishing you luck</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
friend- thanks!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That was where the conversation should have ended, but when I looked at my phone just now, I had this message typed into the response box:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
me- <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">And you're goal is to hear any excuses on the table and he would try again when there is</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Goodbye to you later all at</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I didn't write that. I have no idea what it means. My phone has been lying next to me plugged into the computer the whole time. At first I thought maybe I turned on Siri and that is what it picked up, but it's so random. So maybe it's a ghost...thoughts??</span></div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oALCDE-xfaQ/UG5bvkMMaQI/AAAAAAAAAzI/-rmcdLYnR3E/s1600/images.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oALCDE-xfaQ/UG5bvkMMaQI/AAAAAAAAAzI/-rmcdLYnR3E/s320/images.jpeg" width="215" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div>
So I watched Lovely Molly about a week ago and I am just now getting around to writing about it. I had heard a lot of good and a lot of bad things about this movie within the horror community and almost nothing otherwise, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I have seen so much crappy Netflix horror lately so I was really hoping this was going to be good. I was definitely pleased with what I saw. The actors were all pretty convincing( except the pastor, he just didn't seem right to me) and the atmosphere had me on edge. My husband almost always falls asleep when we're watching movies and I can tell if the movie is scary because I end up yelling at him for falling asleep and essentially "leaving me alone" to watch said movie. Needless to say, I yelled at him multiply times while watching Lovely Molly.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tA8T-6BHwnQ/UG5b87yydUI/AAAAAAAAAzQ/lRypw3leob4/s1600/images-2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><img border="0" height="221" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tA8T-6BHwnQ/UG5b87yydUI/AAAAAAAAAzQ/lRypw3leob4/s320/images-2.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Before I say anything else about the Lovely Molly, I want to mention something that bugs me. I feel like a lot of horror fans like to dismiss movies claiming that a certain story "has been done." As much as I love seeing something that hasn't been done before, I don't understand dismissing something purely because it's been done before. Of course there are exceptions but if a movie is good, it's good. Regardless of if it's a new concept. I mean there still needs to be strong characters, good story line, tension building, etc. Concept alone does not a good movie make.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aLDxEw9vQG8/UG5bvXexEWI/AAAAAAAAAzA/sNJ21v2G2po/s1600/images-1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aLDxEw9vQG8/UG5bvXexEWI/AAAAAAAAAzA/sNJ21v2G2po/s1600/images-1.jpeg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div>
My point is even though we've seen movies like Lovely Molly before, I still really liked it. And It had me on edge multiply times. I am admittedly an easy scare, but it wasn't just cheap jump scares. It was the tension throughout the film, the unknown that had me on edge. Like the scene where she is just reaching into the closet, seemingly at nothing. I found that terrifying. The only thing I really didn't like about the movie was the sense of hopelessness. I really like when there is <i>something</i> that makes you think things just might be OK, even if it's for a moment. It's not that I expect all movies to have happy endings, but this movie was just plain depressing and it's hard not to take some of that dread without you after the credits roll. What were your reactions to Lovely Molly?</div>

It's October 4th, the 4th day in The Countdown to Halloween, and I'm pretty sure I've written more posts this month than the rest of the year! Today's activity was a fun one. What was it you ask?? Take a look:</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Paint Wooden masks!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nxqKlZNAqsU/UG46_OPMuCI/AAAAAAAAAx0/GqeXE4QkHcQ/s1600/IMG_2153.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nxqKlZNAqsU/UG46_OPMuCI/AAAAAAAAAx0/GqeXE4QkHcQ/s320/IMG_2153.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's what they looked like before paint. There is a pumpkin, a vampire, and a ghost. I Found them at Joann Fabrics for a little over a buck each. Also I don't know if you can tell but someone is super excited to get his hands on a paintbrush.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EuvwsNWXoQc/UG47BEcYfvI/AAAAAAAAAx8/FlN65vO3iRk/s1600/IMG_2158.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EuvwsNWXoQc/UG47BEcYfvI/AAAAAAAAAx8/FlN65vO3iRk/s320/IMG_2158.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
A work in progress...</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_UIZ3MqbEfY/UG47C091ZjI/AAAAAAAAAyE/0sXb7EzNwdY/s1600/IMG_2162.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_UIZ3MqbEfY/UG47C091ZjI/AAAAAAAAAyE/0sXb7EzNwdY/s320/IMG_2162.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Dipping the paintbrush...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
And here they are completed. I did the pumpkin, and my husband did the vampire. I think that Gray's is obvious.</div>

So here we are on day 3, and October is in full swing in Illinois. The leaves are yellow, orange, and brown and if you listen you can hear them rustling. Today specifically is slightly chilly, gray, and rainy- I love it! As for the countdown, today we're making cookies! </div>

I realize these are missing a crucial sugar cookie ingredient, (Icing!!) but we're out of powdered sugar. And even though my pumpkins, gravestones, and ghosts would be much cuter with some icing and sprinkles, at least I don't have to clean it off my little monster. Have any of you made any Halloween treats yet this month?cynniegurlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04158286394039801662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5399028311923881542.post-37353219271940281232012-10-03T02:46:00.000-05:002012-10-03T16:06:28.388-05:00Day 2<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It's time to reveal day 2's activity for the day. (Cue sassy voice)<i>And don't even try to say that technically it's day 3 cuz I ain't been to bed yet so I'm still livin' in day two!</i>(end sassy voice) </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Y5BbKVxuL9Y/UGvpR5RuRdI/AAAAAAAAAuw/c9z-JXtVvD4/s1600/IMG_2097.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Y5BbKVxuL9Y/UGvpR5RuRdI/AAAAAAAAAuw/c9z-JXtVvD4/s320/IMG_2097.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So looks like today we are making a banner! Now this one took me a while, and it didn't help that my little monster didn't go to sleep till after 1. Not cool baby, not cool.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VSFmFlt2ePQ/UGvoiQIoZbI/AAAAAAAAAuA/6jV4GlLCo9M/s1600/IMG_2104.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VSFmFlt2ePQ/UGvoiQIoZbI/AAAAAAAAAuA/6jV4GlLCo9M/s320/IMG_2104.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">So first I cut a bunch of triangles out of muslin. I wasn't super specific on the measurements, but they were about 6 inches wide on top and 8 inches long. </div><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dHFMvqPanYw/UGvok3dgYsI/AAAAAAAAAuI/v3CsI-3o9GA/s1600/IMG_2106.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dHFMvqPanYw/UGvok3dgYsI/AAAAAAAAAuI/v3CsI-3o9GA/s320/IMG_2106.JPG" width="240" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">check out my old lady ironing board!</td></tr></tbody></table><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Then I ironed the pieces so that they would lay flat nicely. This took like 3 minutes and really helps with later steps.</div><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nmRoa3yP9s8/UGvonH5ibdI/AAAAAAAAAuQ/N8LT0djxKRs/s1600/IMG_2113.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nmRoa3yP9s8/UGvonH5ibdI/AAAAAAAAAuQ/N8LT0djxKRs/s320/IMG_2113.JPG" width="240" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">why yes, that book is a copy of Something Wicked This Way Comes.</td></tr></tbody></table><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">From there I stenciled on letters to the muslin pieces. Almost done!</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dj52Edrc5k8/UGvopKVc2OI/AAAAAAAAAuY/ukrMb_4Afak/s1600/IMG_2114.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dj52Edrc5k8/UGvopKVc2OI/AAAAAAAAAuY/ukrMb_4Afak/s320/IMG_2114.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Finally I filled in the stencil with black craft paint. I also drew orange stripes on the end pieces and put orange and black dots on the middle blank pieces. Here is the banner on my fireplace.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eLF-IA24ZKE/UGvoqc2J-uI/AAAAAAAAAuk/d8VOiYShDpI/s1600/IMG_2115.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eLF-IA24ZKE/UGvoqc2J-uI/AAAAAAAAAuk/d8VOiYShDpI/s320/IMG_2115.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Please excuse the super blurry-ness in this photo, I fear my life if I turn on the light again. Just wanted to show off the dots. Don't forget to come back tomorrow for day 3!</div>cynniegurlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04158286394039801662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5399028311923881542.post-75566248966278217502012-10-01T15:13:00.002-05:002012-10-03T16:06:05.031-05:00Day 1<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So what is the first thing on my Halloween countdown calender? Let's find out. First we have to find the number 1....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3Bbez_6y6ao/UGn2WszWK6I/AAAAAAAAAsg/B8h60rWsuc0/s1600/IMG_2087.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3Bbez_6y6ao/UGn2WszWK6I/AAAAAAAAAsg/B8h60rWsuc0/s320/IMG_2087.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Then we open it up...</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NuDyhzFru-A/UGn2YV-pBpI/AAAAAAAAAso/fQ1eRmgdgsM/s1600/IMG_2088.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NuDyhzFru-A/UGn2YV-pBpI/AAAAAAAAAso/fQ1eRmgdgsM/s320/IMG_2088.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Make a Halloween Wreath!</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1DHv7XCemUg/UGn3QpaD0LI/AAAAAAAAAtk/3HgmBe7MsNM/s1600/IMG_1900.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1DHv7XCemUg/UGn3QpaD0LI/AAAAAAAAAtk/3HgmBe7MsNM/s320/IMG_1900.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">So first I used this foam pipe stuff that I bought from Menards for $1, much cheaper that buying those foam wreaths from Michaels!! I cut it in half and taped it together with duck tape(ignore that yellow yarn).</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0lPdQj-tsp0/UGn2aWFiyYI/AAAAAAAAAsw/NLhFLHTNNBw/s1600/IMG_2089.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0lPdQj-tsp0/UGn2aWFiyYI/AAAAAAAAAsw/NLhFLHTNNBw/s320/IMG_2089.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Then I wrapped the the foam in strips of lace. Almost done...</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Oqwk9F8TkwQ/UGn2cSwb9II/AAAAAAAAAs4/CcDOuz4_1yE/s1600/IMG_2090.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Oqwk9F8TkwQ/UGn2cSwb9II/AAAAAAAAAs4/CcDOuz4_1yE/s320/IMG_2090.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Hot glued some cheap plastic spiders on and a bow made from a strip of black fabric.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Yx96bFidbuM/UGn2egRwKVI/AAAAAAAAAtA/8QNbVwDgDco/s1600/IMG_2091.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Yx96bFidbuM/UGn2egRwKVI/AAAAAAAAAtA/8QNbVwDgDco/s320/IMG_2091.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Ta-da!!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rtrdOGvVFl8/UGn2gpZscrI/AAAAAAAAAtI/vy9uC6hn3aM/s1600/IMG_2092.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rtrdOGvVFl8/UGn2gpZscrI/AAAAAAAAAtI/vy9uC6hn3aM/s320/IMG_2092.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v2Jr-EENQQ0/UGn2jAcBLPI/AAAAAAAAAtY/jGZJXPByGdQ/s1600/IMG_2093.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v2Jr-EENQQ0/UGn2jAcBLPI/AAAAAAAAAtY/jGZJXPByGdQ/s320/IMG_2093.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">See you tomorrow for Day 2!</div>cynniegurlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04158286394039801662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5399028311923881542.post-88007945741418896902012-10-01T14:57:00.000-05:002012-10-03T16:04:32.080-05:00Countdown to HalloweenI'm so excited to be participating in the countdown to Halloween this year. I thought I'd take it easy on myself and merge a (new) family tradition with what I'd be doing for the the countdown. Have you ever seen those advent calenders that come out for Christmas? Everyday you get a new piece of chocolate as you countdown the days to Christmas. Well I thought I would make an advent calender where we could countdown to Halloween, but instead of just getting boring (delicious!) chocolates each day, there would be different fall/Halloween themed activities. A Spooktacular Bucket list!<br />
<br />
While roaming around on pinterest (so many fun Halloween decorating ideas!) I saw a pin where someone took a cheap plastic barbie house that they found at a garage sale and painted it to look like a haunted house. Of course I didn't pin it so I can't share it here, but just trust me when I say that it was way cool. Anyways I decided to make my countdown calender onto a haunted house. I'm not the best crafter, and I definitely would do some things differently for next year, but here's my 31 Days till Halloween Countdown Calender!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MSjJzTBgaLY/UGnx_7e7cmI/AAAAAAAAAsA/o3IYoLNIgRQ/s1600/IMG_1965.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MSjJzTBgaLY/UGnx_7e7cmI/AAAAAAAAAsA/o3IYoLNIgRQ/s320/IMG_1965.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I found this house western-themed-barn-clock-picture-frame thingy at the Salvation Army for $3. I painted it black, and put some orange Chevron patterned scrapbook paper behind the glass.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DChYlVMAjy8/UGnyCTaZOoI/AAAAAAAAAsI/yVupKlRlXr8/s1600/IMG_2083.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DChYlVMAjy8/UGnyCTaZOoI/AAAAAAAAAsI/yVupKlRlXr8/s320/IMG_2083.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
Then I painted numbers onto little scraps of paper and glued the different activities inside. This is where I had the most problems. Next year I'll be using number stickers because you can barely see/read the numbers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-faB16V9Qg34/UGnyEixBJwI/AAAAAAAAAsQ/QfpSaZ7uYb4/s1600/IMG_2085.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-faB16V9Qg34/UGnyEixBJwI/AAAAAAAAAsQ/QfpSaZ7uYb4/s320/IMG_2085.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>And then I just added some odds and ends to give it a spooky vibe. Little nuts painted orange to look like pumpkins, a skeleton hanging off a noose that came off of a Dollar Tree skeleton garland, a stick painted black to look like a dead tree, and some cheap plastic spiders modge podged with green glitter. What do you think? Check back later for day 1!<br />

Ending<p style="text-align: left;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; ">Warning: I'm about to ramble.</p><p style="text-align: left;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; "><br /></p><p style="text-align: left;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; ">It's been a crazy 6 months since my last post. To sum it up in mid October I went to the ER because I wasn't feeling well. I hadn't been feeling well for a while but I figured it was all apart of being new to <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">mommyhood</span>. Turns out I had developed a heart condition that could have killed me at any time. I had a procedure and I'm all fixed now. My heart is by no means perfect, but it's nothing to worry about nor does it affect me. </p><p style="text-align: left;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; "><br /></p> <p style="text-align: left;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; ">It was the scariest time in my life by far. I spent 5 days in Loyola, away from my baby who I was only allowed to see for brief moments. Afterwards I was left with a feeling of confusion and fear over death. I had never feared death before but suddenly I was terrified of it. I could see death all around me and I felt like it was chasing me, unsatisfied by my escape. Physically I was fine but emotionally, I'd say I was on the crappy side.</p><p style="text-align: left;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; "><br /></p> <p style="text-align: left;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; ">But I slowly began to try and get back to my old self. One of the things I did was to try and get healthy. I've never really been healthy and could always stand to lose a few(or 50) pounds. While I was sitting all scared like on the couch, I had managed to gain back a lot of the baby weight I had lost. So I started to eat healthy and I joined the YMCA. I also decided that I wanted to run a 5k, so I started the couch to 5K program, which is awesome. I'm on week 6 of the 9 week program and I ran a 5K about 2 weeks ago just to see how I'd do. It's pretty exciting. </p><p style="text-align: left;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; "><br /></p> <p style="text-align: left;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; ">So I Bet you're wondering about my fun ending(or maybe you forgot or stopped reading). Well I said all this to share my goal: running in the <a href="http://runforyourlives.com/">Run For Your Lives 5K</a>!! I'm <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">soooo</span> excited. 1- I get to show of my mad running skills, 2- there are super fun looking obstacles throughout the course that involve getting wet and muddy, but most importantly 3- I can finally find out if I would survive a zombie attack. How cool is that!?!</p><p style="text-align: left;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; "><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; ">In case for some reason you don't already know about the run, here's a video.</p><p style="text-align: center;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:Times;font-size:medium;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="270" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4rVh7JEMQ_g?fs=1" width="480"></iframe></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; "><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; "><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Helvetica; ">So is anyone else doing this?? </p>cynniegurlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04158286394039801662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5399028311923881542.post-42598218387228440422011-10-13T10:32:00.000-05:002011-10-13T11:16:41.973-05:00pumpkinpatchinessWe went to Bengston's Pumpkin Patch in Orland park on Sunday. My bad.<br /><br />Anyways, my creative quest. Every year I struggle with coming up with my Halloween costume. In fact I'm usually thinking about my costume for the upcoming year before I've taken off my current costume. So for Halloween 2011, I'd decided I wanted to do a couple costume with my husband, but with a horror theme. I was trying to come up with different ideas when my husband came up with what I thought was a really fun and simple idea. He would be Jason Voorhees and I would be Mrs. Voorhees, his dear mother. Then I found out I would be adding a new member to the family just in time to celebrate my favorite holiday. Now as appealing as it is to match our baby to the Voorhees theme and dress him as a bloody machete(my husband's idea lol) I think it might be best to start fresh.<br /><br />I have been given multiple ideas (most lame) of ways to dress my family of 3. The best suggestion those far was along the child's play theme- chucky, bride of chucky, and seed of chucky. But honestly I don't really like that idea much. Although maybe not attempted tons, it seems just as cheesy as doing an addams family theme.<br /><br />So this is where I need your help. I need some better ideas. I need a horror/Halloween costume theme for a mama, papa, and 2 month old baby(which means nothing that requires makeup or sharp objects:))<br /><br />ps- how cool is it that my babies first celebrated holiday will be Halloween?!cynniegurlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04158286394039801662noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5399028311923881542.post-86968758948214809792011-01-25T20:19:00.000-06:002011-01-25T20:26:23.028-06:00looking for the perfect valentine's gift???How sweet is this?<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TT-F1tPEaxI/AAAAAAAAAgo/DRmE4neKkpQ/s1600/CB400_ZMB_Cut_Outs-0004_1.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 282px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TT-F1tPEaxI/AAAAAAAAAgo/DRmE4neKkpQ/s400/CB400_ZMB_Cut_Outs-0004_1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566314822175582994" border="0" /></a><br />And by sweet, I mean literally because it's a cake. Now I heard a lot of good and bad about this <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TSdpL3c6E1I/AAAAAAAAAgI/dfSpFW2N3Gw/s1600/the-last-exorcism-uk-poster.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 301px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TSdpL3c6E1I/AAAAAAAAAgI/dfSpFW2N3Gw/s400/the-last-exorcism-uk-poster.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5559527917596840786" border="0" /></a>movie so I wanted to give it a fair shot. I popped it into the DVD player and immediately liked it. The acting wasn't very good but it somehow made it feel more realistic to me. I did think pretty early on though that I wasn't going to get scared watching this though because the characters seemed pretty comical.<br /><br />I was wrong. I underestimated how scared I get when I start to get sleepy and my fears of the ghosts in my house actually being homicidal demons from hell. Yah. So there I am innocently watching this somewhat bad, sometimes comical film when I noticed I was starting to get nervous. I look over at my husband and he's fast asleep. I don't know why, but somehing about him being awake while I watch something that is starting to scare me calms me down. So I immediately tell him to wake up and watch the movie before I get all freaked out. He tries to wake up, but of course falls back asleep few minutes later leaving me to get all freaked out again.<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TSdp5cYHt5I/AAAAAAAAAgQ/JKfgR8ZNrVk/s1600/052610_last_exorcism_t.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 250px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TSdp5cYHt5I/AAAAAAAAAgQ/JKfgR8ZNrVk/s400/052610_last_exorcism_t.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5559528700602988434" border="0" /></a><br />10 mins later I am again getting really scared(I forgot the reason I liked POV films is cause they tend to freak me out).The movie is down right freaking me out and I kept hearing noises so I yelled at my husband to wake up again. He starts to wake up, looks down at the couch, looks up at me with a troubled look on his face and says, "The couch was just shaking..." Yah, that sent me into a regretfully embarrassing panic where I yelled at my husband to turn off the movie right now and to put in something "happy". Something happy can include cartoons, comidies, pretty much anything lacking any creepy scenes. So He grabs another movie we'd rented, a not very good movie called <span style="font-style: italic;">The Joneses</span>. I proceeded to fall asleep before the opening credits were done.<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TSdqGywS1WI/AAAAAAAAAgY/i506mV9uzUM/s1600/the-joneses-movie-poster.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 270px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TSdqGywS1WI/AAAAAAAAAgY/i506mV9uzUM/s400/the-joneses-movie-poster.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5559528929948259682" border="0" /></a><br />Sounds like my story is done, but how about one last scare for this lame girl. So like I said, I fell asleep before the movie even started and managed to wake up during the darkest part in the whole film, when the main character's neighbor kills himself. He ties himself to a riding mower and drives it into a pool. The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was a dead guy being held under water by a hose onto a lawn mower, arms and hair floating up towards the surface of the pool. Not cool. I honestly thought for a second in my disorientation of sleepiness that a demon had put a scary movie in my DVD player to get me. I seriously have issues.<br /><br /><br />P.S. I liked the ending.cynniegurlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04158286394039801662noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5399028311923881542.post-70239373367250363012010-12-22T13:50:00.000-06:002010-12-22T14:04:49.039-06:00Mini monster in the making...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TRJZraDEPjI/AAAAAAAAAf8/UfnYRxd6HaA/s1600/scary-baby.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 265px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TRJZraDEPjI/AAAAAAAAAf8/UfnYRxd6HaA/s400/scary-baby.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5553599892762672690" border="0" /></a>So I haven't had the energy or time lately to post, which makes me sad. Not so much for my 3 readers...I'm sure you're fine haha, but for myself because I love blogging!! It's so fun to read everyone's blogs and write my own. So I'm going to make an effort to make more time for my beloved blogging life. Starting with sharing some super exciting news in my house.<br /><br />I am currently growing my very own life-sucking parasite. That's right, I'm pregnant and couldn't be happier, although I find it hard to stay awake through movies(or anything!) these days. So if my posts, or comments on other posts seem few and far between, blame my cute little growing parasite.cynniegurlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04158286394039801662noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5399028311923881542.post-8011332328049428782010-12-10T15:06:00.000-06:002010-12-10T15:47:50.056-06:00Pass me a tissue please.I may have hinted at this before, but I am a huge crybaby. Last night at work we watched Toy Story 3 and during the finally scene when Andy reluctantly passes on his favorite childhood toys, I could feel my chest tightening. As this is happening, my coworker comes up to me and tells me how she went and saw this with her kids and also brought along her cousin. She then went on to say how stupid her cousin was because she began weeping during this scene. Now normally I would own up to my sentimental ways, but seeing as my coworker was new, I got all embarrassed and pretended to laugh at her cousin while secretly wiping my eyes.<br /><br />Needless to say, I cry for the silliest things ranging from sad moments to happy ones, defeated moments and inspirational ones. When I first watched the notebook with some friends I heaved uncontrollably. I have cried during many Oreo and Hallmark commercials. I even cried watching my 11-year-old brother play basketball at his first game of the season. I am not good at weddings and anything involving birthing and babies handicaps me.<br /><br />i'm reluctant to say this crazy sentimental-ness can affect my horror movie toughness. So I thought I would just come clean and discuss a few horror flicks that cause me to bring out the tissues. I'll try not to cry...<br /><br />I love 28 Days later, I believe it made my top 20 list. But it’s sequel, 28 Weeks Later, brought me to tears. Yes it’s true. That stupid opening scene when they are in the farmhouse and the zombies get in. They run up into that room and the guy is on one side of the room and the girl is on the other side. That heart-wrenching choice between love and survival, I hate you!! Yes he left. Yes he had no choice. Yes most, if not all of us would have done the same. But it starts me up every time anyways. It’s the fact that I put myself in the situation that makes it so hard for me. Leaving those I love when they are begging for my help. And the depressing, yet terrifying theme music? It leaves such a hopeless feeling behind, I can’t help but get all teary-eyed.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TQKfNdeK5DI/AAAAAAAAAfs/FkEdWSRzaWo/s1600/images.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 276px; height: 183px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TQKfNdeK5DI/AAAAAAAAAfs/FkEdWSRzaWo/s400/images.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5549172744472159282" border="0" /></a></div><br />I know I mentioned this example specifically before, but Pet Sematary is a sure thing when it comes to making me blubber like a baby. Obviously the scene where Louis has to poison Gage and Gage walks away saying “no fair daddy no fair” is a huge tearjerker for me. But there are a lot of other tear-filled scenes for me in this one: Gage’s death scene, the funeral gone wrong, the scene when Rachel finds Gage in the creepy blue getup, the whole depressing atmosphere of the movie in general. No wonder Stephen King did not initially want to publish this book because he felt it was too dark, although I'm sure glad he did.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TQKfNWC3SDI/AAAAAAAAAfk/FRUs0Zuhwr4/s1600/340x_cage.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 340px; height: 325px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TQKfNWC3SDI/AAAAAAAAAfk/FRUs0Zuhwr4/s400/340x_cage.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5549172742478579762" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Most recently, a movie that found me with my ugly cry face on was Adam Green’s Frozen. It took me a while to getting around to watch this one because all of our 5 copies at Blockbuster where defective. I finally ordered it from blockbuster online (cuz I’m not cool enough to have netflicks yet, boo) and was pleasantly surprised to find that I really enjoyed this movie. But what really surprised me was to find that I was emotionally invested to the point of tears! When Dan found himself about to become wolf-food, and he was yelling at Joe not to let her look, I started to lose it. And then the scene continues to tear me apart as Parker and Joe are screaming and crying together, Joe keeping his word and not letting her look down while Dan’s screams eventually die (literally).<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TQKfNnsJanI/AAAAAAAAAf0/Ey7JcSRg2GQ/s1600/Frozen_site.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TQKfNnsJanI/AAAAAAAAAf0/Ey7JcSRg2GQ/s400/Frozen_site.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5549172747215137394" border="0" /></a><br /><br />I'm sure there are lots of more horror movies that have brought me to tears, but I need to try to hold on to some of my pride. So ya, call me emotional, whatever. Here's some cuteness that is sure to warm your cold cold hearts...<br /><br /><object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ErMWX--UJZ4?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ErMWX--UJZ4?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>cynniegurlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04158286394039801662noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5399028311923881542.post-76159365400879187032010-11-30T23:35:00.000-06:002010-12-01T00:15:06.204-06:00Dreaming Dead<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TPXnc8J9R8I/AAAAAAAAAfE/dN4eDOt9nF8/s1600/AMC-Walking-Dead-303x450.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 269px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TPXnc8J9R8I/AAAAAAAAAfE/dN4eDOt9nF8/s400/AMC-Walking-Dead-303x450.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5545593000546879426" border="0" /></a>So I wrote this post like 3 weeks ago but somehow didn't post it so ya...here it is...<br /><br /><br />So with all the excitement surrounding <span style="font-style: italic;">The Walking Dead</span>, of course I would have a walking dead inspired nightmare. It was actually pretty cool and didn’t lead to any kind of waking hysterics, but rather had me trying to fall back asleep to continue my dream (that never works!). Anyways my dream picked up with the idea of going through the sewers to escape the zombies and gather supplies from other buildings. A rift-raft group of survivors and I went down into the sewers and it was cool because there were doors that led into the other buildings, it was almost like a mall, but in a sewer. In one door there was a bunch of bikes, which I thought was really cool, another door held like a clothing store and so on.<br /><br />So anyways we were scouring for supplies in a hurry because we knew the <span style="font-style: italic;">walking dead</span> would be there soon when a bus comes and drops off a group of teenagers. I know this makes no sense as 1) we are under ground so where did this bus come from and 2) why are kids shopping when there are zombies all around? But these questions don’t matter because this was a dream so whatever. We’re running around frantically getting what we need, all the annoying teens are in our way shopping and hanging around like it’s no big deal, and the zombies start coming. Then I woke up. I really did try to go back to sleep though because I knew in my dream I was going to be able to get away and I wanted to see how. Boo.cynniegurlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04158286394039801662noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5399028311923881542.post-51235136719383948932010-11-26T14:54:00.001-06:002010-11-26T14:54:33.077-06:00Thankskilling<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TPAcbusbhZI/AAAAAAAAAe8/moZIkf3kXT4/s1600/thankskilling-poster_G-rated.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 193px; height: 295px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TPAcbusbhZI/AAAAAAAAAe8/moZIkf3kXT4/s400/thankskilling-poster_G-rated.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5543962404009510290" border="0" /></a><br />So I went to a friends for thanksgiving yesterday. We drank, ate some turkey, played some games, and watched Thankskilling(2009). We found this on netflicks instant watch and I think I may have to make this a new thanksgiving tradition. It's definitely raunchy and inappropriate on so many different levels, but I loved it. This movie falls into the"is so God-awful it's good" category, with the tagline <span style="font-style: italic;">Gooble Gooble Motherf*cker!</span>, it had me laughing throughout.<br /><br />The movie starts off the day after the original thanksgiving with a Pilgrim lady running scared, with her boobies hanging out. Really?? She was completely dressed and showing off her goodies for no other reason than for a flash of nudity. We are then introduced to the evil cursed Turkey who kills, but not before giving us our first fantastically cheesy line: "Nice T*ts B*tch!"<br /><br /><br /><br />The movie centers around a group of 5 college students on their way home for thanksgiving break. You have your typical characters, Billy the hick, Ali the skank girl, Darren the nerd, Kristen the good girl, and Johnny the jock. Of course their vehicle breaks down and they end up having to crash and set up camp in the woods. As they are finding a place to put up their tents, the nerdy guy finds a sign that says Crawburg(maybe..) and he freaks out and tells them a story about a massacre that happened on this land many years ago involving a cursed turkey that kills people and will come back every 505 years. And of course this happened 505 years ago today...<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TPAcP3fiWqI/AAAAAAAAAe0/c9c_NIWheyQ/s1600/Turkey.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 325px; height: 242px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TPAcP3fiWqI/AAAAAAAAAe0/c9c_NIWheyQ/s400/Turkey.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5543962200212920994" border="0" /></a><br /><br />I just want to highlight a couple of particular funny parts. After a really raunchy yet comical scene involving Ali, a male friend, and the turkey which leaves all but the turkey dead, the other 4 go to her house to see if she is ok. Johnny comes out of her house and says something to the effect of this: "Ali is dead and I found this(he holds of a long feather) and a this extra small gravy-flavored condom wrapper." Apparently even homicidal perverse turkeys practice safe sex.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TPAcOlw6ibI/AAAAAAAAAek/Y95IIRGd4nA/s1600/images.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 293px; height: 172px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TPAcOlw6ibI/AAAAAAAAAek/Y95IIRGd4nA/s400/images.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5543962178274101682" border="0" /></a><br />Then there is a part when the Turkey kills Kristen's dad and makes a mask out of his face that he wears. So when they go to Kristen's house, they talk to the turkey thinking he is her dad. Like there is anyways you could look at a turkey with a skin mask on and believe it was actually a person. I seriously could not stop laughing. I mean honestly. So funny.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TPAcPH1cvGI/AAAAAAAAAes/w4NNhgLAezA/s1600/thankskilling.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 237px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TPAcPH1cvGI/AAAAAAAAAes/w4NNhgLAezA/s400/thankskilling.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5543962187419925602" border="0" /></a><br />Here's the preview, hope everyone had a lovely thanksgiving!!<br /><br /><object width="580" height="365"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WOjSRoxc6mg?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WOjSRoxc6mg?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="580" height="365"></embed></object>cynniegurlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04158286394039801662noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5399028311923881542.post-56162288053851194952010-11-23T14:50:00.000-06:002010-11-23T15:13:18.080-06:00Too cool<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TOwsPuKlAhI/AAAAAAAAAdM/9LQNW0QGM3U/s1600/DSCN1818.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_25NR6PyWRhg/TOwsPuKlAhI/AAAAAAAAAdM/9LQNW0QGM3U/s400/DSCN1818.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5542853889988297234" border="0" /></a>I'm so late in posting this but I just had to mention that I have the coolest kid brother. His name is Angel and he is in the 5th grade, which means he is tons of fun! Unfortunately he had an asthma attack in the middle of the night on October 30. He's fine now, but at the time they wouldn't release him from the hospital until he had completely stopped wheezing. He didn't end up getting released until Tuesday of that week, Nov 2nd.<br /><br />So my awesome trooper of a brother had to spend Halloween in the Hospital, boo.
